Answers and questions regarding energiedata 4.0 – our FAQs

energiedata 4.0 specializes in state-of-the-art LED lights which are equipped with smart additional features such as WLAN and lighting control.

Our offer is generally aimed at owners and operators of street lightling installations (usually cities and municipalities or municipal utilities). Basically, however, everyone can acquire our lights and modules, we welcome all requests.

There are different business models which are developed together with the local provider. For example as a free WLAN (revenues may be generated via the landing page with advertising revenues) or time limited free WLAN which becomes fee-based afterwards. We will be happy to support you with finding a suitable operator model.

Generally speaking, the provider has to take care of the liability for interference.

Our WLAN mesh network can be extended freely by equipping further lights with our modules.

The lights from energiedata are designed modularly and have various funktions, such as WLAN hot spots, WLAN supply of buildings, WLAN mesh network, smart metering, lighting control ets. In the section “products” you can find further details. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

The module consumes a maximum of 10 Watt.

The best time for integrating our communication module is when outdated lights are converted to LED as our module is directly installed in the light. However, for street lights which are already converted to LED lights we can also provide suitable adaptor solutions.

We will install and connect the communication module. Cable routing is only required for connecting the streetlight with broadband, which is needed for supplying the WLAN network. However, not all street lights have to be connected. Depending on the local conditions, every fifth light will be equipped with an entry point.

The lights are equipped with a control system that enables switching via equation of time as well as via a dimming sensor.

Smart meters are intelligent, interconnected meters for water, gas and electricity. With the energiedata module the reading on site becomes redundant as the data can be read out automatically and can be transmitted to the energy provider.
